The Freckled FarmHer

About Me

Hey y’all! My name is Bailey Watson and welcome to my blog! I live in a small town in Wythe County, Virginia. I am currently majoring in Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech with a focus on Livestock; so, I spend most of my time in Blacksburg, Virginia! My family owns a small, beef cattle operation where we raise Simmental, Angus, and SimAngus cattle. Although beef cattle is our primary focus, we also have a small flock of Suffolk sheep.

My passion? Agriculture. I love everything about it. From being involved in production agriculture to advocating and lobbying for the industry, I support agriculture.

My goal? To show others the truth about agriculture and how it is impactful to everyone’s lives. I have always wanted to start a blog about agriculture so I could reach an array of people and educate them about the benefits of this industry. Anyone who is involved in agriculture knows there are some good days and some bad days, some really highs and some really lows, but we persist on anyway. In this blog, I will show you the reality of agriculture, the nitty-gritty of the industry. I want you to see the day-to-day life of a farmer and an agriculturist. Here you will find Real Life, Real Stories, and Real Agriculture. I hope you enjoy your time with me as I walk you through and educate you about the agriculture industry.
